A man accused of trying to sell pipes online to a Florida man accused him of violating his probation, according to court documents.
Cynthia Siegel, 40, was arrested Aug. 16 on charges of violating her probation stemming from her arrest for shoplifting in Jacksonville, according the Miami-Dade Police Department.
Siegel was ordered to be arrested and put on probation for the second time for the Aug. 1 incident, according police.
Police said Siegel purchased the pipes from a store on Palm Beach Gardens Avenue in Jacksonville.
Siegle then took them to a business in Coral Gables that was listed as a “weed pipe shop.”
When she returned to the Coral Gores store, Siegel saw the owner, Brian D’Angelo, inside the store and offered to sell them, according records.
D’Angelo said he couldn’t accept them because the pipe is illegal in Florida, according documents.
When Siegel asked why, D’angelo said he had been smoking pot for years and that the pipes were legal.
The store owner said he could sell the pipes but that they could be returned to him, according court documents and a video of the incident obtained by ABC News.
Siegel was released from jail on $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court for a hearing Aug. 22.
She is due back in court on Aug. 30 for a preliminary hearing on the new probation violation.
