PIPER HANGERS are not the only things that can be done to stop the pips from scoring, but they’re the most important.
That’s what Antonio Rudiger wants to change.
“For me, there is no more important thing in football than scoring goals,” said the Brazil international.
“For me this is something special.
I believe that every player has the same goals in mind.”
It was the goals that were crucial for Rudiger to score his 100th league goal on Saturday.
The attacking midfielder, who is only the second player to score in every league match since 2000, opened the scoring with a low drive that deflected off the bar.
His second goal was equally as important, a sublime shot that forced a diving save from the goalkeeper.
That was only the beginning of his impressive season, with the Brazilian hitting the net six times in the final five matches of the season.
He scored two goals and assisted three more in the league, which also saw him score three goals in the Champions League final against Manchester City.
Rudiger also put on a performance that showed his class on the ball, and scored a hat-trick against Boca Juniors to secure his spot on the all-time list of top goalscorers in the history of the club.
It was also an impressive display by his fellow Brazilian, who showed off his versatility in his attack.
While Rudiger scored the opening goal, he also assisted a second, including a sublime volley on the hour mark, before adding another to his tally.
The Brazilian has already netted 10 times in Serie A, with another goal against Inter to close the season out on top.
